Mark student absence

When to use this procedure

Follow the steps below to indicate a student did not attend class. The absence may be excused or unexcused depending on how the absence reasons were established.

Steps to complete

Prerequisites: You must establish at least one absence reason before completing this procedure.

  1. On the Scheduling window, right-click a class and click Add Absence. The Create Absence Record window displays.
  2. Select the absent student in the Student box.
  3. Select the first day of the student's absence in the left-hand Date Range box and the last day of the student's absence in the right-hand Date Range box.
  4. Select a reason for the student's absence in the drop-down box.
  5. Click OK.
